Our Data Protection Policy

Who we are

At Heritage Opera, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web site and those on our mailing list. In particular, we want you to know that Heritage Opera is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. We have never and never will do that sort of thing. In line with the new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) legislation, in this Privacy Policy, we are providing lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Types of data we collect

Website Cookies

The Heritage Opera website ( places cookies, which are small data files, on your computer or handheld device. This is standard practice for all websites. Cookies are essential for helping us deliver a high quality website and online shopping experience for our customers, and some collect information about browsing and buying behaviour. By using and browsing our website, you consent to cookies being used in accordance with our policy. If you do not consent, you must either disable cookies or refrain from using the site.

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process for our occasional e-newsletters, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We have never rented, sold or traded email lists with other organisations and businesses, and we never will.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our e-newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe from general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer, Nick Sales at
