At a glittering party in mid-nineteenth century Paris, the wealthy courtesan Violetta meets Alfredo, a young nobleman. But as her health deteriorates, Violetta has to make an agonising choice between the man she loves and preserving his family’s reputation forever. Verdi’s brilliant score includes the famous ‘Brindisi’ and the breathtaking aria ‘Sempre libera’. The professional cast includes Heritage Opera regulars Sarah Helsby-Hughes as Violetta, Roberto García López as Alfredo and David Palmer as Germont. 'There is a source of pride in the north west, and it’s called Heritage Opera.' – The Independent 'One of the most adept and adventurous companies bringing staged opera to the north of England' – Opera Now ‘This company is a jewel in the cultural life of the North West’ – Lancashire Evening Post |
